Privacy Policy

What we collect when you use this site, and what we do with it.

Effective November 4, 2026

This policy covers this website, run by CA FNAWS, doing business as California Wild Sheep Foundation (“CAWSF”, “we”, “us”). It explains what personal information we collect when you visit or buy from the site, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have.

What we collect

When you place an order

  • Your details: name, email address, phone number (optional at checkout) and billing address.
  • What you bought: the items, amounts and date of your order, and any details an item asks for, such as an entrant’s name and phone number for a drawing, a gift member’s name and mailing address, or the names of guests at a gala table.
  • Payment results: whether the payment was approved, the processor’s reference numbers and the last four digits of the card.

Card numbers

Your card number, expiration date and security code are entered in a secure form provided by our payment processor, Authorize.Net, and go straight to them. They never pass through or get stored on this site.

When you browse

  • Your cart is saved in your own browser so it is still there if you leave and come back. It is not sent to us until you place an order, and you can clear it by emptying the cart.
  • Security checks. Checkout uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from automated abuse, and our servers keep standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) to keep the site running and secure. To spot card fraud we keep a scrambled (hashed) form of the IP address an order came from, not the address itself.
  • No ads or tracking. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics trackers or social media pixels, and we do not track you across other sites. Because of this, the site works the same way whether or not your browser sends a “Do Not Track” signal.

When you email us

We keep your message and your email address so we can reply.

How we use it

  • To process your order and payment and email your receipt.
  • To deliver what you bought: entering you in a drawing and contacting winners, holding your gala seats, setting up a membership and sending the chapter newsletter to members.
  • To answer your questions and keep accurate records for accounting, tax and legal purposes.
  • To prevent fraud and keep the site secure.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. We share it only:

  • With the service providers who run the site for us, only as far as they need it: Authorize.Net (payments), Cloudflare (hosting, data storage and the security check) and Resend (sending receipts and order notices by email).
  • With the chapter volunteers and staff who handle orders, memberships, drawings and events.
  • When the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of CAWSF, our members or others, for example to investigate fraud.

How long we keep it

We keep order and membership records for as long as we need them to serve you and to meet our accounting, tax and legal obligations, then delete them.

How we protect it

The site is served only over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Card details are handled by Authorize.Net, never by us, and access to order records is limited to the people who need it. No method of transmitting or storing information is completely secure, but we work to protect yours.

Your choices

  • You can browse the whole site without giving us any personal information.
  • You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it where we are not required to keep it.
  • You can ask us at any time to stop sending you chapter emails or mail.

To do any of these, contact us using the details below. We may need to confirm your identity first.

Children

This site is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them online. Youth memberships are bought by a parent, guardian or other adult. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will post the new version here and update the effective date at the top.
